Physics to rock your pants off!

New siggraph videos are out!. I was stunned to see the progress in rendered physics animation. These open up a possibilities for many video games; I hope this cool stuff is not going to be used in a yet-another-fps-game, that now let’s you shoot window glasses or shove cars to swimming pools. It really has the potential of totally unique and fresh game mechanics.

A year ago today, I started working on a game based on a fluid animation code from last year’s siggraph. It was a game in the format of lemmings. You had to save H2O from drying up, evaporating into air or just lost down the drain. The code I used was pretty good to run on a decent pc, but I was aiming for mobile phones. Maybe it’s just ahead of its time. Surely such a cool game can be done for PSPs. Anyone?
